In this installation I sought to recreate the environment of my Mother's kitchen counter. I asked her to ship everything that was currently on the kitchen counter without censoring any items. If you do not suffer from the form of OCD that my Mother does the items may seem like junk or garbage even. Each item that she has saved will indeed serve a purpose in her mind, this is why she can not throw them away. She sees potential in the normative excrement of our society. By repurposing the materials to make art, I fulfill the prophesy that she has foretold for these objects. It was in doing this project that I was able to restructure how I approached the topic of "hoarders" especially after trying to shamefully hide it for most of my life.
